Inspired to be a Women’s Education volunteer in CAMBODIA? Flat Volunteer Women’s Education project empowers volunteers to assist at education centers with the aim of uplifting women who missed out on formal education in their youth. These centers support women to gain school qualifications. Volunteers will gain teaching experience largely by helping students learn English - a skill which can greatly enhance their job prospects and enrich their futures.
What to expect and how you'll make an impact
For CAMBODIA women who missed out on education when they were younger, local centers provide a great opportunity for another chance at achieving school certifications. These education centers are well set up to cater for women between 16-55 for the equivalent to a Grade 10 or Year 11 education. However, they do require volunteer assistance to maximize their impact.
The women who attend the program are very committed to giving their education a second chance, and are often particularly interested in learning English. The practicality of speaking English gives their job prospects a huge boost, as does the qualification they are striving to achieve.
As a Women’s Education volunteer you will have a great opportunity to get an insight into the lives of the people you will be helping and to learn more about their culture. Your volunteer tasks will include:
· Teaching English to women
· Teaching basic lessons from a curriculum
· Helping women learn new skills
· Running workshops on women’s rights and reproductive health
· Assist in research, developing proposals, designing
